Jim E. Sawyer
As NAPSA Executive Director, Jim administers the Association’s daily operations and programs. He works with the NAPSA Board to develop and implement strategic priorities and create partnerships with diverse groups including Federal, state and local agencies, other associations and private organizations. Jim also leads NAPSA’s efforts to expand membership, increase business opportunities and oversee upcoming projects to update NAPSA’s professional standards and develop educational programs and certifications to strengthen the work of pretrial services professionals.
Jim brings a wealth of experience and expertise in association management and criminal justice. Most recently, Jim served as Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Client Relations for Security Capital Advisors, LLC. Previously, he worked for eight years at the National Association of Counties (NACo) to develop and promote national business programs and manage partnerships with national suppliers, business partners and state associations. Jim was also the Executive Director of the Arizona Association of Counties for seven years, overseeing Association operations and government affairs program and was the Director of Legislative Affairs for the Arizona Attorney General. Jim holds Master of Public Administration and Bachelor of Science degrees from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona.
